Lovatics Unite!
Here We Go Again
Demi was first on television when she appeared on Barney when she was 7 (with Selena Gomez crazy enough)! Demi then landed her first Disney Channel gig on the show As the Bell Rings in 2007. Her role on that ended for her to star with the Jonas Brothers in Camp Rock. #blessup In 2008 Demi got to co-star with her best friend Selena again, in the Disney Channel original, Princess Protection Program. Disney then FINALLY created a show just for her called Sonny with a Chance, making it one of Disney's most popular shows of all time, and making Demi an even bigger star.
Get Back
The next two paragraphs are on the serious side of things, but only to honor Demi's hard work and successes. The comeback of the century included Lovato circa 2010. From early on in her career, Demi went through some extremely hard times due to substance addiction. Her producers, family, and friends were extremely supportive and helped her go through rehab and recovery. There is a documentary all about this particular journey (called Simply Complicated), where she opens up with honesty. She admits her faults and recognizes she is now stronger and smarter than ever. For me, it broke my heart hearing what she went through, and at such a young age. It helps us see a new side of things we sometimes don't think of, when thinking about the must be glamorous life of celebrities. As for Demi, it just makes her seem more triumphant now. She has come so far not only as an artist, but as an individual.
Cool For The Summer
Many of her albums have reached top 10 charts worldwide. Multiplatinum albums across the board. Demi even has a grammy nomination. Her high level of success shines through her music career, but what sometimes goes un noticed is her deeper, more influential impact on people. She spent much of 2017 advocating for those struggling with all kinds of mental illness. Because of her experiences with depression and addiction, she really knows how to build and strengthen others. She is all for embracing and being your true self, but getting help when you need it. In a recent interview Demi stated “Never be ashamed of what you feel. You have the right to feel any emotion that you want, and to do what makes you happy. That’s my life motto.”
Sorry not Sorry
All in all, this Disney legend has turned into a pop icon and then into a powerful role model. Her songs have been constant pick-me-ups in my life and will continue to do so. Gratefully enough, Demi is touring currently for her 6TH time! She is promoting her newest album, Tell Me You Love Me. She is hitting stages all over the US with DJ Khaled.
** Here is my all time favorite/most watched youtube video! It's Demi singing my favorite song "Stop The World." I love this video because it shows off her talent, and her personality.
This literally is the post I’ve been waiting for
